Flatten the Image

Inspired by the colours and imagery of Erik Madigan Heck’s 2013 work ‘Without a Face,’ ‘Flatten the Image’ draws attention to the stratification in laminated glass art. While Heck is known for not digitally manipulating his photographs with adjustment layers, Yorgos’s process always involves working in layers. These layers are meticulously combined and eventually flattened into a single, cohesive image. This technique highlights the depth and complexity of glass art, creating a unique visual experience that pays homage to Heck’s minimalist yet vibrant aesthetic.
