Commissioned for Myrtos Restaurant
Ionian Symphony is a triptych that celebrates the natural rhythm and harmony of the sea, the sky, and the shore. Through a fluid, wave-like composition, Yorgos evokes the gentle dialogue between water and light that defines the Ionian landscape.
The artwork’s palette flows from deep and luminous blues—echoing the ever-changing sea and sky—to soft, sunlit yellows that recall the warmth of sand and the quiet glow of the beach. Myrtos Beach is stunning. With its dazzling white pebbles and striking waters, it is considered to be one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece and even in the world. The DNA of the beach is present in the artwork through the use of actual sand taken from it.
Adding a unique sensory dimension, Ionian Symphony is illuminated with lighting that changes in warmth and tone throughout the day. The shifting light recreates the natural progression of time, allowing the artwork to transform as the world outside does—cool and tranquil in the morning, vibrant under midday light, and softly golden at dusk.
More than a visual composition, Ionian Symphony is an experience of place—an homage to the beauty, serenity, and timeless motion of the Ionian Sea.
