Internationally acclaimed Cypriot glass artist Yorgos Papadopoulos has been invited  by the European Cultural Centre Italy, to participate in the Venice biennial exhibition ‘Personal Structures’ from May to November 2026. 

After winning the 1st prize at the biennial European Glass Context in Bornholm (Denmark) in 2021, this prestigious invitation represents another major milestone.

Now in its eighth edition, Personal Structures explores the evolving relationships between individuals, communities, and their environments — with a focus on how personal narratives contribute to the broader human experience.

Yorgos has proposed two installations fitting this theme: a large scale installation based on the “evil eye”, so widespread in our Middle Eastern cultures, and an intimate “chapel” featuring his transformative reinvention of the Orthodox iconography.
